Profile: Steve Sellers, vice president and U.S. national director, Cru

Steve Sellers became a Cru staff member in 1976 working at Marshall University. During his years with Cru, Sellers has served in several capacities, including campus director at the University of Connecticut, New England area director, national director of operations for Cru on Campus, national director of Cru on Campus and vice president of Global Campus Ministry.

In 1991, Sellers accepted the position of national director of Cru on Campus. As a leader, Sellers encouraged the ministry to become innovative and discover news ways of reaching college students with the gospel. As a result,, an evangelistic website, was launched. Currently, on average 1,000 people a week indicate a decision to become a Christian on the site.

In January 2005, Sellers was appointed vice president for the Americas, giving geographic leadership to 26 countries in the United States, Canada, and Central and South America. In 2008, he was also appointed to oversee the countries within the region of Oceania. Sellers is known as an agent of change who wants people to know the difference Jesus can make in their life.

"Effective ministry, both in the U.S. and around the world is dependent on our ability to partner," said Sellers. "We're committed to developing relevant evangelistic strategies and tools and giving them away to the body of Christ. The task is too large and the stakes are too high to do otherwise. We will reach the world as only as we equip people live out our missional calling according to their unique gifting and motivation."

Sellers lives with his wife, Christy, in Orlando, Florida. They have four children.
